All My Single Ladies: Happy Valentine's Day!

Yes, once again, its time for the much dreaded V-Day, Valentine's Day and while I know so many people loathe this day for its forcedness of trying to honor a supposed Valentine, I've always found this day fun (and not just because its my B-day) but because I think it doesn't need to be reserved just for lovers, but for friends or anyone you love.

For the past few years, I have tried to plan at least on outing with my single ladies to dance, drink and be merry and be each other's Valentine's. Who says that its only for significant others? It's a day to show whomever you love that they are special to you and I try to do that.

So for V-day haters, you can switch that around. Send your mom a nice card, drop a good friend a note to let them know they are appreciated, give your homie a hug, just show some love. Then buy yourself a box of candies, some flowers, treat yourself to a new outfit (got myself a new blouse and a bag) grab some good people and celebrate...yourself!

Be your own damn Valentine!

Happy Valentine's People!

Halloween Hangover

The next morning checklist:
  • sleeping til noon- Check!
  • finally getting up and walking like a cripple from dropping it like its hot- Check!
  • dizzyness- Check!
  • light-headedness- Check!
  • not remembering highlights like getting on stage and cooing my theme song to a crowd of onlookers-Check!
  • waking up with eyelash glue all over my face- Check!
  • finding my wash cloth with pink makeup smeared all over it- Check!
  • realizing that I peed in front of 3 other women- Check!
  • waking up to a fantabulous guy who thought I was the fucking hotness the night before- Check!

Have to say it was a really good Halloween! My girls came up with the fabulous idea of going as the '80s cartoon band, Jem and the Holograms (cause we're truly, truly, truly outragous). I was Jem, my girl Cat was Shana and Morgan, Aja (sadly, we had no Kimber). And though we were a bit worried we'd look like drag queens or hookers, we were recognized by quite a few although while on stage for a costume contest, we were playfully referred to as Lil Kim and the Holograms and Jem and the Juicy Booties! Whatever, cause we rocked it! And Halloween is fast becoming one of my favorite holidays.

The New York Weekend

I finally got my butt up to New York for a getaway weekend with friends and had a great time. The issue was the daggone subway. Seriously, too confusing for me. I depended on my girls to figure out how to get where cause apparently there is 5+ ways to get everywhere and more trains than you can count. But we somehow managed.

The highlight of my touring was the Museum of Sex, which explored attitudes of sex and in the media through the ages. LOVED it!
It's a good thing I saw this sign before I got in cause...
This entire floor was nothing but live porn. I actually got to view some of Deep Throat and was impressed!

The scariest part of the tour and sex is pregnancy and childbirth. And that they've used tools like these to get the baby out.

Then we all went out for a night on the town where I then got tore up and drunk dialed several people.
But wasn't I fly in my new sweater, wrap belt and low rise jeans.
Yeah, had to bring a bit o' Bmore to NY.
Then we went to Harlem and had dinner at the famous Sylvia's Soul Food where we saw none other than Rosanne Arnold and Rosie O'Donnell have dinner with friends. Rosanne walked right by our table!

Had me some fun, spent me some money, at me some food and had a plenty of laughs.
So long, for now, New York. I'll be back someday.

Kickball Conclusion

So it was a really fun season of playing kickball. WE held our owner on a complete losing streak and went out with a big bang (we dressed up in leftover Halloween costumes and partied like rockstars). The team was fun, I learned where my strengths are (running and kicking, NOT catching) and the post-game partying was on point.

Had my fun!

Halloween 2007 in Fells Point

Halloween 2007 was a ton of fun and me and some friends hit Fells Point for some bar-hopping, drinks and carrying on. It was mad crowded but the costumes looked great and I had fun taking pics. And the Cheekz were out!

Smurfette

Breakfast of Champions

Spartans- These guys were sooo hot. I think a pushed a girlfriend out of the way to get in this pic!

Uhhh, I think this was his costume.

Duff beer for me.

Again, just thought these guys were hot!

The entire Mario Bros. crew.

Can you believe there were two Uma's?

And his stereo was blasting Run DMC.

With Otis, who I mistakenly called Jerome.

Jesus was in the house (and that was a large cross he was carrying).

Blue Man Group

We believe that was Noah's Ark and they stayed together and walked around Fell's like that.

That Saw clown dude with victim (and he pedaled around on a tricycle).

Stacy in a Hat! So cute!

Me and Michael Vick (there were several)

Cat as a can-can girl. So pretty!

Me and some sexy vampire.

I was a girl scout! Anyone want some cookies?

My favorite costume of the night.

Dick in a Box!

Jill's interpretation of Uma ala Pulp Fiction.

Wha ya gonna call?

Can't wait til next year but I'm going to try and be more original with my costume.

Let the Kickball Season Commence

So I joined a kickball league this fall and kickoff is this upcoming week. I just got our schedule and got a look at the other teams' names. They are hilarious and now I wish we had a more creative team name than Drunk Enough to Kick your Ass.

Here's some of our competition:
Menace II Sobriety
Baltimore Boozehounds
See You At Recess BITCHES
Negative Net Worth
Go Balls Deep
The Matzoh Ballers
Slow Children At Play
The Reverse Cowgirls
C.U.N.ex.T.hursday
Cameltoes
Federal Hills 21230
Oops I Crapped My Pants
We got the Runs
Milk Was A Bad Choice
The Pu-Tang Clan
Balls N Dolls
Hit It and Quit It
Fah Q
Multiple Scorgasms
Drunk Dial Us
Sponsored By Mickey's Fine Malt Liquor
Free Mustache Rides
Just Plain Drunk
A Burning Sensation
Watchyercrotches
I Promise I'll Pull Out
Tulips On Deez Balls
Where's Your Beer, Bitch?
Will Lose 4 Booze

Not hard to tell there will be lots of drinking on this league? Now I'm excited! They tell me that the usual is hitting happy hour before the games, then they bring coolers of beer to drink during the games. Then hit the bars afterwards for post-game celebrations. Sweet bastard this should be fun. Beer! Men! Big balls!

This is going to be the best sport I ever played!

The South Beach Vacation

After a year of talk, me and the girls finally made it down to South Beach in Miami, and seriously, I did not want to leave. We stayed at this adorably cute spot right on the beach and lounged and ate and shopped and chit-chat and ate some more the whole time.

Unlike Ocean City, MD, the water was actually turquoise and see-through beautiful. And felt like it was 75 degrees. And the men! Whoooo, child! I never saw so many fine ass men in my entire life. Every one of them it seemed was jogging and frollicking around the beach with apple butts and cut abs and firm thighs and tanned arms. Matter of fact, everybody there was tanned including me, getting nice and crispy dark.
But I loved it! It was hot and sunny everyday. We were in walking distance of everything you can eat, buy or lounge on there was so much activity everywhere.

So I began thinking, I should move here! The weather is hot, there's lots to do, plenty of hot men, bars, partying, young people, I can walk around half naked, what's the minus? But I got a bit discourage when I asked a friend about the dating scene and she replied that it was mainly "white and shallow". So me and the girls went to the club Mansion to check out the scene and despite the long line waiting behind a velvet rope, I found it rather tame and the women there had nothing on me. The music was their downfall (it was mainly techno and no Bmore club of course) with only one small room dedicated to "urban" music fans. I was unimpressed but no longer intimidated. Though I take note that there weren't enough nappyheads walking around.

Perhaps that will change.
